I was sitting all curled up in the living room with my head lowered, until I heard
the apartment door opening.
“What happened, babe?”
I didn’t respond and gave a deep sigh instead. He leaned in closer to see my
face. “Look at me.” He lifted my chin.
I looked away. I slapped his hand and removed it from my face. After that, I
stormed off to my room immediately, leaving him in shock.
He kept knocking on my door, but in vain. I wouldn’t open the door. “Hey,
please open the door...” He said with his puppy voice.
“Go away, Jihoon!” I said in a crying voice.
He panicked. “Huh? Why are you crying? Please let me in, I’ll help you...”
Gradually, I gave up, and opened the door. He cupped my cheeks in his hands
immediately and tried drying my tears.
“Okay, okay. Now, now. I’m here.” He comforted me.
I hugged him tightly while desperately crying. “Why can’t I be happy...?” I said
in a trembling voice.
“What do you mean, you can’t be happy? I’m here with you.”
I wiped my tears and sniffled. “I feel lonely and bored when you are not here...” I
pouted.
“Awww! You missed me?”
I nodded, looking down.
“Awww, you could’ve just told me that.”
“I wanted you to be happy and let you have fun with your friends...”
“But-” before he could complete, I cut him off. “I didn’t want to stop you from
socializing!” A tear dripped from my eye.
“I-” Not being able to complete, I lowered my head.
He sighed. “Listen, love. My friends will never ever replace you. You’ll always be
my one and only. And this is not the first time I say this...You’re the prettiest,
coolest, smartest, cutest girl I’ve ever seen. You are amazing and perfect the
way you are. So.. please don’t look down to yourself. I love you.”
I looked at him directly, meaning “is that true?” He smiled a bittersweet smile
and nodded. I jump-hugged him and cried in his arms.
“I’m so sorry for keeping you alone. I won’t do that anymore, I promise.” He
petted my back.
I let go of him and gave my pinky to him. “Pinky promise?” I beamed.
“Yes!” He wrapped his pinky with mine.
It felt like the happiest moment in my life. We were all smiles. I felt like that
happiest girl ever to know such a caring boy like Jihoon.
“Jihoon?”
“Hm?” He hummed.
“I love you!”
He looked at me in shock for seconds. “Awww, so do I!” He petted me and I
looked like a cat.
“My cute kitty! You’re so cute when I pet you! Do you want me to tickle you?
under your chin too?” He asked me but didn’t wait until I responded and did it. I
blushed hard cause I loved it.
“Awww, my baby! You’re all bwushy-bwushy now!”
Once he stopped, I glared at him with angry eyes. “I’ll make you pay!” I jumped
on him and buried him under the blanket. I then sat on top of him. “Hmph!
That’s what you deserve!” I crossed my arms and shook my head.
He screamed to ask me to let him out, but I didn’t care.
“H-hey...it’s so dawk in hewe...” he said with his puppy voice.
“Don’t fall for it, don’t you dare fall for it...!” I confronted myself and closed my
eyes.
He was making a scared puppy noise, that’s when I couldn’t handle it anymore.
“Park Jihoon!” I took off the blanket revealing his face.
“I’m sowwy.” He said in the softest voice I could ever hear, with a pleading face.
“J-Jihoon...” I was clearly pissed off. All I did was just look away and fake a
smile.
“Aaaaannnnnnng~” He whined like a little kid.
“Park Jihoon! When will you learn to act like a grown up?!” I confronted him.
“Nevewwww~”
Then, he suddenly pulled me close to him. “I wove you~”
“H-hey! Let go of me!” I couldn’t move back then; he had locked me in his arms.
I sighed as I stared at the ceiling blankly. When I turned back to Jihoon, he had
already fallen asleep. I couldn’t help but smile. He looked like a little kid,
sucking his thumb.
I caressed his hair. “I’m the luckiest girl ever to have a giant panda like him!” I
thought to myself.
He smiled in his sleep as if he heard what I said.
“I love him, he’s the best.” I closed my eyes to the sound of silence.
